Our services
Three services.
One consistent approach.
Each Lirien service is scoped clearly, priced transparently, and designed to be used on its own or in sequence with the others.
Back to HomeMethodology
How Lirien approaches a project
The studio's approach starts with a listening phase — understanding how a household uses its space before proposing how to change it. This isn't standard practice in residential design, where the instinct is often to show concepts quickly. We hold back on visuals until we're confident we understand the brief.
From there, every service follows a written process: decisions are confirmed in writing before they're acted on, and any change to the agreed scope is recorded. This protects both parties and creates a project record that's useful if questions arise during or after the build.
We work across the Klang Valley, with particular experience in terraced houses, townhouses, and apartment refits. The studio keeps its active project count small — three at any one time — so that each client has substantive access to their designer throughout the engagement.
Initial consultation
We discuss the property, how it's used, and what the client wants to change. Typically thirty to forty-five minutes, in studio or on site.
Scope confirmation
We confirm which service is appropriate and issue a brief scope document before any work begins. The client approves this in writing.
Design and documentation
Drawings, specifications, and visual references are produced and shared progressively. Revisions are handled within the agreed round count.
Site coordination (if engaged)
Weekly site walks, written logs, and written contractor communication through the build phase, ending with a final defects round.

Standards across all services
What you can expect on every project
Data Privacy
Floor plans, photographs, and personal information are held in confidence and not used for marketing without written consent.
Written Confirmation of Decisions
Every design decision, change request, and approval is confirmed in writing before it's acted upon. The project record is shared with both parties.
Direct Designer Access
Clients deal with the assigned designer throughout, without account managers or project coordinators acting as intermediaries.
Ventilation Review
All layouts are reviewed for natural ventilation before finalisation — addressing Malaysia's climate conditions as part of the design process.
Physical Material Sampling
Primary finishes are reviewed as physical samples before specification — never based on digital images alone, which read differently under Malaysian light.
Milestone Invoicing
Payments are structured around project milestones, not time-based billing. You know what you're paying and when before the project begins.
